Hi Lindsay!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that we have become friends because of Rwop! What a riot! Thanks so much for stopping by and following my blog. I'll be following yours also and I think we have alot in common with our interest in nutrition. With the exception of pie, of course...I have to have the real deal when it comes to pie :)
Moderation, right? I love your blog! I hope you'll stop back by to see me again soon!
Paula, Glad to see you have been successful on your weight-loss diet. Lookin' good! Please keep in mind, though, that fat is not the enemy of diabetics. That role goes to carbohydrates like wheat, rice, and potatoes, which are higher on the glycemic index than sugar itself. Please, for your sake, scale back on these. Of course, a lot of this kind of thing depends upon the individual, so the best thing for any diabetic to do is test often so you can see what makes *your* blood sugar spike and how badly. One of the worst habits for a diabetic to get into is to look for low fat products on grocery store shelves. When fat is removed, so is flavor, so the fat is typically replaced with some form of sugar, and, for diabetics, that's a deadly trade. Many a diabetic has eaten their way to poor health in this manner. Anyway, good luck and God bless!
